“Bhagam-Bhag” –
well, this the word that describes my life precisely. My schedule is really
very unkempt. Let’s find out how...
I open my eyes
willingly or unwillingly at 5 : 30 and with this grand opening I either start reading for my CAT or BBA
stuff and if I am permitted by time , I opt for a 5 min meditation sitting in
my balcony. At the knock of 6:00, I hurry for a hot bath as by 6:30 I am
supposed to reach at ‘Brahma kumaris centre’ (jagnath road). I charge my
battery there. I take those tasty sip of ‘Param Shanti’ . I rejuvenate there.
Reaching back
home at 8:00 .I and my younger brother go for breakfast at our special place
called ‘Rajnikant Idli’. We both are real gluttons so chit-chat and idli mix
well with us. As soon I come back those dirty clothes and stingy vessels always
seem waiting for me. And Aaah...! our
messy room....so all in all doing all the household chores I rush to reach at
‘Endeavour ‘(My CAT class) for either giving OMC or FLT . Getting free at
around 12:00, I affix myself to stop at ‘Patel Vihar’ which our tummy filler.
Getting the parcel of -6 rotis, 1 sabji and 1 laddu’ (As I love eating
sweets..!) (By the way, we were going for those daily Tiffin’s but due to poor
taste we left it.)
And my excursion
ends when I go to sneh and we have our lunch so as to help me to ultimately
rush to my college. (1 to 5 pm). My college is my heaven. Vaha jannat hai!! As,
Vaha Smita ma’am hai!! (If you ever get a chance, do visit J.H.bhalodia Women’s
college to meet especially Prof. Smita Vyas...) Coming back home it’s already 6:00.
Jab bhi ghadi me dekhu to lagta hai jese me aur meri Shrimati Tik-Tik
lukka-chupi khel rahe hai as me chahe jitni koshis kar lu ...samaj kahi chup hi
jata hai...kahi bhag hi jata hai..!!
‘Shu, Bhaiya kem
cho?!’ i ask as the milkman bhaiya at our nearby shop gives me 2 pouches of
Amul Gold. So, at 6:30 pm if you visit me you may find me enjoying a cold glass
of milk-bourvita- chocos in my hand! Then, gingerly I start working for my CAT
exams where I have to do ‘Dhishum-Dhishum’ with so many thoughts like- He Bhagvan!
Kash hum kisi subject se bhi talaq le sakte ...to maine ‘Maths’ ko kabse chod
diya hota! ,” I wanna make myself ‘The Janvi’ from ‘Janvi’ aur ye CAT se
possible nahi hai”, “Do what you love Janvi, tumhari zindgi kahi aur hai”...
Finally at 8:00
I go to my window wali seat to read the morning newspaper (Quite funny! Muje
pata hai!!) to write editorials. Having dinner at around quarter to 9, i then
move to my bailiwick to do the most titillating thing i.e. writing my personal
diary.(Khud se do batte bhi ho jati hai aur dil bhi halka ho jata hai) Well ,
in all these hotchpotch I forget to tell you that managing those besharam
buddies, funny family times and ‘Ghumna ,firna aur ashhh..karna’ is the cherry
on the cake.
So, sometimes I
get pugnacious about life thinking ‘ye bhi koi zindgi hai!!’
It happened
today that as I was going out with premangi when I saw a vegetable vender, I
women shabbily dressed but still managed to look winsome (I don’t know how!)
she was whispering something ...something like ‘Aa mare todle betho ree...mor..’ and i could later realize
that it was a song indeed. Her face was dark and clothes ;a bit stingy but
still i felt ki usko kala tika laga du! Then, My eyes fell on those red
tomatoes and with open eyes I could see my favourite frozen tomatoes with
masala marke , before me! I vivaciously asked for tomatoes worth rs. 15 and
seeing so many vegetables on her lari, I asked ‘Aunty, I suppose today you
didn’t sell anything as all the vegetables are intact.’ She replied with a feeling of fervour ‘Didi,
As it rained today I had to stay at my
home gathering all the stuff which was being carried away with the rain water
or else on normal days I make good sales . But for all these I have to
transgress my limits; waking up at 4 in the morning to collect vegetables and
not even getting time to have two meals a day.’ after a jiffy she added that
‘didi, My husband doesn’t work and its only I who has to make two ends meet,
after all I am the mother of 3girls and 1 boy...’
Goggling at the
women, pied feelings took birth inside me. I recalled those 3 rotis and sabji
which filled my tummy in the noon. I tried to replicate her smile and with that
bag of tomatoes she also handed over to me –a lesson worth learning...
